India vs CA Chairman's XI: Tendulkar, Laxman hit half-centuries
Little Master Sachin Tendulkar was eight runs short of his century and VVS Laxman batting on 57 as India were 240 for three at tea against Cricket Australia Chairman’s XI at Canberra in the two-day warm-up game. India trail by a further 158 runs after Chairman’s XI declared their first innings at 398 for six. Tendulkar and Laxman have put up an unbeaten 133–run stand for the fourth wicket. Tendulkar looked in sublime touch hitting 15 boundaries in his unbeaten knock of 92, which came from 132 balls. Laxman made most of the opportunity to prepare for the upcoming Test series against Australia smashing nine boundaries for his 57 not out, which came from 76 balls. Rahul Dravid missed out on a half-century when he was dismissed for 45 by Cameron Boyce. He hit eight boundaries during his stay. Tendulkar added 33 runs with Dravid for the third wicket.
